Deadliner
A burned out writer.
An impossible deadline.
No hope in hell...
Deadliner is a 37-page psychological horror comic that tackles real stories of creative burnout and stress within the indie comic community.
It follows a struggling novelist who suffers the mother of all writer's block after the death of a close friend. With only four weeks left to meet the publisher deadline for his new book, the writer checks into Greenglade Oaks, a remote mountain lodge, to overcome his anxieties.
However, creativity and clarity don't come cheap in Greenglade, as the writer must battle through his own headspace, traumas and fears to complete his new masterpiece before his work consumes what's left of him.
Written by Dave Cook (Killtopia, BPM: Beatdowns Per Minute) and featuring art by Donna A. Black, Deadliner is a dark trip through creative fears and stress felt by many in the creative industry. Completing the team is Rob Jones, whose inventive lettering completes the raw vibe of Deadliner.
